The Anime Blues Con Board of Directors is monitoring the situation closely of the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) within our community and nation. At this time, Anime Blues Con is still scheduled as normal for June 19th-21st, 2020 at the Southaven, MS – Landers Center.
As of March 17th, 2020 Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland has issued a declaration of emergency for the City of Memphis effective immediately. This declaration allows the City and its departments and agencies to seek any and all necessary federal and state funding to facilitate the response to the Emergency. Additionally, all required procedures and formalities as to procurements on behalf of the City are hereby suspended for purchased of equipment, materials, supplies and services needed for Emergency management purposes.
While Anime Blues Con, is currently scheduled in Southaven, MS and the declaration of emergency does not affect us, a large portion of our Staff and Community is located in or nearby the City of Memphis. With respect to that, we want to ensure we will be able to hold the event safely in the interest of public safety. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and update our Social Media and website accordingly of any updates.
In coordination with the Southaven, MS – Landers Center and Anime Blues Con, we will be implementing hand sanitizing stations around high traffic areas such as Registration, Exhibit Hall, Gaming Hall, and all Special Guests autograph tables. While this is only just the beginning of our changes we’re continually monitoring the situation and will update our polices accordingly. We hope that by the time that June rolls around the Coronavirus (COVID-19) will be behind us all and we can return to normal for the sake of our community at large.
